Ireland prop Liam Byrne was signed from Wigan Warriors to add size and power to the Warrington pack.
Born in Salford, Byrne played his junior rugby with Cadishead Rhinos and Wigan St Jude’s before joining the Wigan Academy.
He spent time on loan with Workington Town (2017), Leigh Centurions (2018) and Swinton Lions (2019) before nailing down a regular first-team slot.
He was a member of the Wigan team who completed the quadruple in 2024 by winning the World Club Challenge, the Challenge Cup, the League Leaders’ Shield and the Grand Final. By the end of 2025, he had 152 appearances for the Warriors.
In September 2025, it was confirmed that he had signed a two-year contract with Warrington with a club option for a third.
Head coach Sam Burgess said: “He’s a fierce competitor who’s achieved a lot of success in his career so far. At 26 his best years are still in front of him and he will be an important player for us in the years to come.”
