Profile
Stefan Ratchford has been a points-scoring machine during more than a decade at the Halliwell Jones. He has kicked more goals and scored more points on the ground than anyone else.
Wigan-born, he started playing for St Cuthbert’s, aged six, before switching to St Patrick’s and then signing for Salford in 2005.
In July 2008, aged 19, he was part of the Salford team who won the Northern Rail Cup by beating Doncaster 60-0 in the final at Blackpool. Karl Fitzpatrick, now the Warrington chief executive, was one of his team-mates.
His career really took off after he joined Warrington for the 2012 campaign, with him winning the Challenge Cup in his first season with the club.
He won the first of six full England caps in 2016, the year Warrington lifted the League Leaders’ Shield for the second time.
In 2018, he won the Harry Sunderland Trophy as man of the match in the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford despite finishing on the losing side against Wigan.
In 2019, he kicked two goals at Wembley as Warrington rocked the heavy favourites St Helens to again claim the Challenge Cup.
In 2022, he enjoyed a well-deserved testimonial season.
As club captain in 2023, he played in every game and kicked a century of goals for the first time (102 in total) as he passed 1,500 points for the Wire.
