Josh Thewlis was Warrington’s best player during the disappointing 2025 campaign.
He was crowned the Ken Kelly Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year and was the leading tryscorer with 15 in 29 matches, including one in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley.
He also produced the try-assist of the season when his sensational run created a touchdown for full-back Matt Dufty at Leigh in August.
Josh made his debut against Catalans Dragons in the summer of 2019, aged 17 and 38 days, making him the club’s second youngest player of the Super League era. He was the first player born in the 21st Century to play for Warrington.
In October 2022, he made his debut for England Knights in an 18-6 victory over France B in Bordeaux and scored four tries for the Knights in a 28-4 victory over Scotland in Edinburgh.
He was called into the full England squad for the mid-season international against France at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in April 2023 and became the country’s first 18th man.
He was crowned the Super League Young Player of the Year for 2023, the first Warrington player to win the award since Lee Briers in 1997.
His younger brother, Jake, has followed in his footsteps by joining Warrington from Waterhead Warriors and establishing himself for the first team.
