Warrington-born Connor Wrench is an exciting centre with an impressive burst of pace and clever footwork. He has demonstrated leadership skills from an early age and scored some spectacular tries in big matches.

He played for Woolston Rovers and Crosfields at community level before joining Warrington’s scholarship programme. He was the joint winner of the club’s Under-19s Player of the Year award for 2019.

He scored a hat-trick while captaining England Academy to a 62-0 victory over Wales in October 2019.

He made his first-team debut at centre at Salford in September 2020 – his winger was Sitaleki Akauola – when a youthful Warrington side, captained by Dec Patton, suffered an agonising 22-20 defeat.

He made a tryscoring debut for England Knights against Jamaica at Castleford in October 2021. He scored the 10^th try in a 56-4 victory.

His development continued in 2022 with seven tries in 14 appearances before he suffered an ACL injury against Toulouse at the Halliwell Jones that August which ruled him out for nine months.

He marked his return to first-team action with two tries against Hull FC in the Magic Weekend game at St James’ Park in June 2023.

He scored another spectacular try in the elimination play-off at St Helens in September 2023 to give the hosts a fright.
