Warrington-born Joe initially played for Culcheth Eagles and Latchford Albion. He made his debut in primrose and blue in 2014 against Hull KR in a 34-4 win at Craven Park and became a mainstay of the side in 2018. His continued no-nonsense approach and powerful and determined barges in midfield have earned him both the admiration of the crowd – and well deserved senior international recognition with Great Britain. He was selected for the Lions touring team playing Down Under in the autumn and earned caps from the bench against New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. He was a member of the Ireland squad that performed so well in the 2017 World Cup tournament playing in their matches against PNG, Wales and Italy. A year later he changed allegiances, being picked for the England Knights and he figured in their two internationals against PNG. Joe was a try scorer in the Challenge Cup Final last August.
