Warrington-born Joe Philbin is a popular and barnstorming forward, often at his best coming off the bench and wreaking havoc.
He played his junior rugby league for Culcheth Eagles and Latchford Albion before signing for Warrington, aged 15.
He was handed by Wire debut by Tony Smith, aged 19, in a 34-4 victory at Hull KR and scored his first try against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan the following February.
He was a member of the Warrington team who beat Brisbane Broncos 27-18 in the World Club Series in February 2017. He played in 27 of Warrington’s 33 games that season.
In 2018, he played in the Challenge Cup final against Catalans Dragons at Wembley and the Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors at Wembley. He made 35 appearances that year, all off the bench.
He scored the opening try at Wembley as Warrington stunned the hot favourites St Helens to lift the Challenge Cup with an 18-4 victory.
He went on the 2019 Great Britain Lions tour of Tonga, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, making his GB debut against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland.
He signed a three-year extension to his contract in January 2021 keeping him at Warrington until at least November 2024.
He made his England debut in October 2021, coming off the bench as France were defeated 30-10 in Perpignan.
He suffered a season-ending ACL injury in a 4-0 victory over Hull FC at the Halliwell Jones in June 2022, ruling him out for nine months.
In September 2023 he was awarded a testimonial year in 2024 to mark his 10 years of service to the club.
