Blake set Super League on fire immediately after joining us from Canberra Raiders in 2019 on a three years’ contract and looked nailed on for the Man of Steel award until he turned an ankle in the Catalans game in Perpignan in August which meant he missed the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. Back in action later in the campaign he earned selection for Great Britain’s tour Down Under by way of the grandparent rule and scored a try against PNG while playing on the wing. Blake began his professional career with Penrith Panthers in 2011 and his footballing brain and goal-kicking skills prompted Mick Potter to sign him to the Wests Tigers three years later. Moving to Canberra he realised his full potential and in a game against Newcastle Knights he crossed for three tries in 11 minutes. He also earned a place in the Dally M 2015 team of the year.
