Wakefield-born Jordy Crowther is a workaholic loose-forward who impressed so much during a loan spell with Warrington that he was awarded a two-year contract.
He played his junior rugby league for Westgate Wolves and Crigglestone All Blacks before joining Wakefield Trinity’s scholarship programme.
He made his Wakefield debut against Wigan Warriors in March 2014, aged 17, making him the second youngest forward ever to play for the club.
Loan spells with York City Knights, Dewsbury Rams, Oxford and Newcastle Thunder followed as he matured into a top-class professional.
He was a first-team regular at Wakefield by 2019 and signed a new two-year contract with them in July 2021.
He was named as Wakefield’s vice-captain in November 2022, aged 25.
He was linked with a move to Castleford Tigers in May 2023 before being brought to Warrington by then coach Daryl Powell on loan for the rest of the season that July.
In August 2023, he was praised by Gary Chambers, Warrington’s interim head coach, for his early performances in primrose and blue. Chambers said: “He’s a good kid. He’s a good person, works super hard, really humble. These are the type of people that we need to be looking at in our club. They do a lot of unseen work.”
