Recreating the shirts digitally was incredibly challenging but to see the results and all the shirts from the different eras lined up next to each other was rewarding and hopefully brought a smile to the fans' faces.

The initial template mock-up I used was difficult to work with. The colours were slightly off and intricate designs proved impossible hence the lack of the popular 1993 home shirt.

With the competitions running across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram it was fascinating to see how different generations of fans reacted to the different shirts. That home tournament saw Instagram swing the votes the most, knocking out the great Challenge Cup winning jerseys of 2009, 2012 and 2019. I was surprised when the 2016 League Leaders' Shield winning shirt took the crown but it was a simple, slick design with the iconic club colours and conventional Rugby League V across the chest. The shirt was the first to feature the club's stunning new logo and also celebrated our 140 year anniversary.

My honourable mention goes to the ‘Vladivar’ and League title winning shirt of 1954-55 which made up our one and only Wildcard which, much like the theme of the tournament, saw its dreams crushed by the one and only 2016 design.

My favourite shirt that I designed in the home competition was the 2009 Challenge Cup winning shirt. So simple, but the fine detail brought it to life, such as the sleeves and the usage and accurate positioning of the old latin slogan ‘lupus non mordet lupum’ - 'a wolf does not bite a wolf'. The hardest of the showdown was hands down the 1996 ‘pinstripe’ shirt. There was so many little details I kept missing but got there in the end. The sleeve pattern was tough to get spot on but looking back now I think it looks fantastic.
