Head coach Steve Price reflects on win over Castleford.
“I’m really pleased with the result. That was our fourth game in two weeks and it’s a brutal game is Rugby League. There’s not been much time to plan it’s mainly been about recovery. We absorbed a lot of pressure just prior to the back end of the game. I was really pleased to see the guys come through the other side and keep Cas to 14 points. We were always in control of the game. I’m proud of the boys. We’ve got a long turnaround now for next week which is pleasing.
“It’s great to see JJ [Jack Johnson] back. He missed the whole of last year after snapping his tib/fib and has only played three games for Rochdale. He did some really good things for us out there.
“I thought there was a real big game changing moment with Ryan Atkins holding up Egodo in the first half to prevent that try. It’s what I expect from my experienced players and he came up with some big moments. I thought our middle formation at the start of the game laid a good platform for our interchange boys to come on and have an impact too.
“There were a lot of strong performances. It can be a tough place to visit so I’m proud of the boys.
“We’ve got a longer turnaround now before Wigan. We’re into Challenge Cup mode and the boys will be excited for next week.
“I’m very pleased with Toby [King] and he’s turning into a first-class centre and the sky is the limit for him now. It’s about consistency now and I see a really bright future for him in the years to come.”
