The Wire captured the former England International centre Luther Burrell from Rugby Union side Northampton Saints midway through last season. The explosive, 6ft 3, 17 stone, Burrell adds depth across a number of positions in the backline and back row. He signed for Northampton in 2012 with over 150 club appearances including a starting place in the Aviva Premiership Final against Leicester Tigers in his first year followed by the European Challenge Cup and the Aviva Premiership trophy season of 2013/14. He previously pulled on the Union jersey for Leeds Carnegie, 2009, and Sale Sharks, 2011. Burrell has also represented England. He toured Argentina in 2013 and New Zealand for a Test series in 2014. He was also as part of the 2014 and 2015 Six Nations, scoring on debut, and the summer tour of Australia in 2016. Making a few appearances last year while finding his feet, with a full pre-season under his belt 2020 promises more.
