A member of the Great Britain side that toured Down Under in the autumn, the holder of over 30 caps for England and one of the superstars of the NRL, 30-year-old goal-kicking halve Gareth has joined Wire on a three years’ contract. He was born in Halifax but moved with his family to Australia at the age of 16. He joined Melbourne Storm and made his first team debut in 2010. In the same year he was drafted into the England side and scored a try against France with his first touch of the ball. A member of the Storm team that won the NRL Grand Final in 2012, Gareth joined St George Illawarra in 2014 and played for them against Wire at the Halliwell Jones in the World Club Series in 2015. In his final game with the Dragons he topped 1,000 points in the NRL.
