A first choice England half for the past 10 years even while playing in Australia, Gareth joined Wire on a three years’ contract beginning last season. He was a member of the Great Britain side that toured Down Under in 2019 and has now amassed 38 caps for England. He was born in Halifax but moved with his family to Australia at the age of 16. He joined Melbourne Storm and made his first team debut in 2010. In the same year he was drafted into the England side and he scored a try against France with his first touch of the ball. A member of the Storm team that won the NRL Grand Final in 2012, Gareth joined St George Illawarra in 2014 and played for them against Wire at the Halliwell Jones in the World Club Series in 2015. In his final game with the Dragons he topped 1,000 points in the NRL.
