The Wire’s very own Super Bennie Westwood made his 500th career appearance in Warrington’s Super League clash against Wigan Warriors last week.
Westwood has played 426 games for Warrington since 2002, and was previously with Wakefield (40 games, 1999-2002).
He has also represented England (30 games, 2004-2005, 2008-2011 & 2013), England Knights (1 game, 2011), England under-21s (1 game, 2001), Yorkshire (1 game, 2002) and the Super League under-21 side (1 game, 2001).
To mark such an amazing career milestone we are celebrating with Bennie on Thursday night at our home game against Catalans Dragons.
The Central SelfDrive Wirettes will be performing in limited edition ‘SBW’ t-shirts and the lads will be warming up in these too. We have a t-shirt giveaway planned in for supporters so keep an eye out on game day.
Plus 1000 Super Bennie masks will be handed out so make sure you get down early to get your hands on one.
There’ll also be a tribute to Ben on the club’s big screen to bring back some great memories.
Here’s to the next 500!
