Halfback Richie Myler is aware of the tough test that faces the side tomorrow night when Wigan Warriors come to The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
With preparations almost complete we caught up with him to get his thoughts ahead of the game.
"Everything steps up when there's a big game around the corner and Thursday night is massive against Wigan.
"You want to win any big game and Wigan have shown in the past that they are quality side. We know we need to be on our mettle to beat them."
As a halfback Richie is expecting his opposite pairing to pose a threat come tomorrow night.
"The halfback combination of Green and Smith is potent. They have no Sean O'Loughlin which is a loss for them but they have great structures at Wigan and they stick to them; everyone knows their role. It's going to be a tough test."
Last time the two sides met was back in October's defeat in the Grand Final but Richie says the side's focus is purely on tomorrow's performance.
"I don't think that will ever leave my memory; to lose in any final hurts but to lose in the Grand Final was a tough one. It's not been spoken about much though as we know what we need to do in terms of performance. We have to be on our game to beat Wigan and hopefully that's what we'll do.
"Wigan had the distraction of the World Club Challenge which was a tough one for them but they are building in the right way now - as we are too - their performances are showing that."
The home advantage will count for a lot once we hit 8pm tomorrow. The fans can turn a game and no more so than in a local derby.
"After that tough 15, 20 minutes when you are blowing a bit it's always great to get that lift from the fans; that South Stand makes a fair bit of noise (laughs)!"
Warrington v Wigan is a game not to miss. Make sure you have reserved your spot on the terraces or in the stands for tomorrow's Thursday Thriller.
